My heroes

I... Was in my bed the other night. Thinking, as I often do. I do not pretend to be a smartass always thinking about stuff, but my brain is rather hard to be put off, especially before sleeptime.
So here I was, in my bed, wondering... I was thinking about my friends in general, and more specifically, about the roleplay sessions... And about what all these... Well, were procuring me. Thinking about the game itself and how to improve it, worrying about my own way to behave, but also thinking about how great it was to get to know awesome people and interesting characters...
And I thought myself... "Hey... How about thinking of all these chars, and what they mean to me?"
And so I went on. And it went a bit like this.

Mozenrak. Or, for that matter, Jome too! I have to confess, I like Carlota's characters mostly for TEH LULZ! They're like the High Priests of a temple dedicated to wilderness, crazy lines, and epic bursts of laughter.
Buuuuuuuuuut, they're also quite interesting. Mozenrak especially, given I know a bit more about him... There are many things I'd like to know about him and his background, what is more considering he's soooooooooooooo old... But I guess I should read Out of Elsweyr first.

Astarill... I know I often use the word "awesome". I use it so much that sometimes, I fear it doesn't sound as "awesome" as it should. But this character is truly Awesome, really.
He is one of the characters I have the most respect for. He's impressing. Even if he's being socially-retarded, grumpy-over-the-eternal and sometimes a bit "I'm so proud and convinced I am right that I almost sound childish", well... He's a fascinating character. Intelligent, logical, reserved enough to look plausible, with a developped background he keeps for himself, and one of the sole reasonable being among all the chars.
And even if for me only girls can get to be called "beautiful" (Men are uglyyyyy), there's something about him, like an aura, which is full of class and awesomeness. Must be the "Indiana Jones with magical powers" side.

Maeril... What a delicious contrast between her and Astarill! Such a kind, sweet and reasonable lady! A bit like Cath, she's one of the sole characters who does NOT go wild in a few seconds, while being able to smile and talk normally to other people.
And I must say that I'm also fond of that archeologistic side of her, which in the TES universe feels like a job both original and coherent. And let's face it, exploring tombs and trying to find traces of old civilizations always sounds awesome. (What is more, when said lost civilizations can potentially have created powerful artifacts, weird objects, or kept ancient knowledge written in the stone.)

Varda. Hm... I have to say... At first, I could have thought she was a bit... Well... No, let's put it this way, it'll be closer to my vision of things: despite all the elements that could have made Varda one of the most horribly Mary-Suish characters, she's not.
I'm admirative. Really. It is a very tricky exercise to play such a character while avoiding the "That's a bit too much". I mean, she's a noble, beautiful warrior, falling in love with the Lost Heir of the Empire and, in her fiction, getting to become Empress... And yet she doesn't even feel a bit Mary-Suish at all, it even sounds logical. I'd say it deserves a "bravo".
Varda is also one of the characters I'm totally fond of. Firstly because she adds a lot of fun and peps. She's not a "comical" characters, but definitely, she got me some good laughs. But she's also an interesting character because she's more complex than she looks.

Tanya... Ah, little Tanya. Cute must be her second name. I'd say I've got a double vision of her... Because, while she appears light-hearted and cheerful most of the time, there's... Something... I wouldn't be able to tell exactly what, but something in her that alway seems so... Sad... I guess it must be because of Sometimes-Normal's drawings, but I feel like a strong feeling of melancholy coming from her. Also, she's so small and cute and innocent and all that... Well, it's like the weakest blow could broke her, like something so very precious sometimes you do not even dare to touch it.
Nevertheless, Tanya is mostly one of the cutest character I've ever seen... So charming, so cheerfull, always wanting to do as best as she can. I perceive her as a very positive person, and it's always such a... Well, such a relief to see a light-hearted cutie around the other characters...

Hannah... I'd say Hannah both makes me laugh and fascinates me.
It's always so fun to see Hannah around, insulting people, acting like an ass, acting so grumpy and easily irritated. She's a great humoristical asset, while also being one of the sole "sane" chars of the group.
But there's also something about the "other" Hannah. The one before the Grumpy, her background... While it's not as mysterious as Shagan's or Loren's or Astarill's, there's well... I don't know, it's just that I know there is MORE than just the grumpy mage jerking around, it's the story of a change...
So I'd say I'm both fascinated by "Hannah of the past" and amused by "Hannah the Grumpy"

Cath. Even though I didn't get to play much with Cath, I have to say I was... Impressed. I think she might be one of the chars with the most developed common sense, while not being as awkward socially as Astarill...In fact, I wonder if she's not the most normal of the chars, and that must be why I like her a lot. She's so calm, but can be so sweet, or serious, or she can add some coherence to a situation, or decide that it's best to go a bit crazy, like with the multicolored chickens... No, really, I didn't get to play a lot with her, and believe me when I say that I regret it.

Beryh. Ah. Even if I've seen him... Hmm, like what? Twice? (Seen, not even really interacted with him ), I have to say I like this character a lot. I'm not even sure why... Maybe it's because he's so sympathetic. And that being a courier seems such a... Well, such an ordinary job, while sounding extraordinary in that case. I mean, sympathetic traveller, always on the road, bringing questionnable stuff all around Tamriel? Yup, I'd say that's pretty much awesome, ma'am.

Shagan, even if he's always being so quiet and silent, is also one of the character I'd like to... Well, dunno, I'd like to interact with him and find more about him.
I guess that's precisely because he's being so calm and talks so little that there is such an aura of mistery around him. Hey, seriously now, can you imagine being a deadra? What is more, on Tamriel, and part of the Dark Brotherhood?
But despite that, his rare (re)actions also usually interest me or at least amuse me. Like, grabbing a fork and stabbing his own hand. I sure wasn't expecting that.


I guess I could say those are my favourite characters... Not in order, of course, they're only listed like this because... Huh, well because of nothing.
Of course, I didn't draw all the chars I could think of. Many are missing, like Loren, Dust, Dakari, etc. Doesn't mean I don't like them either, but well... First, I don't have all the time in the world, and second, well, sometimes I don't interact enough wit these chars, or their background might be interesting but I'm fascinated by someone elses's background, or I didn't get to know them enough. Stuff like that.
But still, I could have added some more chars, but meh. Lazy me is lazy, plus I fell asleep after a while (fortunately ).

Anyway, these characters wouldn't be half as great if it wasn't for their creators, of course. And truth be told, I think they are at least as awesome as their characters.
